From the Frontlines to the Canvas: My Journey to Healing
About the Artist
The Heat of Battle
From 2004 to 2006, I served two back-to-back combat infantry tours in Ramadi, Iraq. Those years were defined by intense firefights, missions, and the constant reality of IEDs. When I was medically discharged, I faced an entirely different kind of battlefield: transitioning back to civilian life.
Dealing with severe PTSD, anger, depression, and isolation, I struggled to find anything that brought real peace or helped me process what I had been through.
The Spark That Changed Everything
After meeting my wife and welcoming our second son, we decided on a whim to attend a couples’ art class. Honestly, I walked in thinking it was going to be lame—but picking up that brush changed my life forever.
Art became my voice when words weren't enough. It transformed into my ultimate outlet to channel the invisible wounds of war, silent battles, and raw human emotion.
A Purpose-Driven Studio
Today, at Art of the Blueflame Studio, every brushstroke carries my soul. As a 42-year-old father, my art is also deeply tied to my family—specifically dedicated to supporting my two wonderful boys, aged 6 and 12, who are both on the autism spectrum.
Every piece you see is a 100% original creation. When you bring my artwork into your home, you aren't just collecting fine art—you are directly supporting a veteran's mental health journey and providing for a dedicated family.
